Unlike Belgium, France does indeed welcome Israel during this Nations League campaign, as did Italy. But a security system is put in place.
High tension meeting Thursday at the Stade de France. France will indeed host Israel, as part of the 5th day of the League of Nations. A match which is therefore indeed held on French soil and with the public, unlike Belgium-Israel which had been relocated to Debrecen.
This does not mean, however, that the French authorities are calm. RMC Sport reports that measures are being taken. We are talking in particular about a reinforced security system in and around the stadium in order to prevent possible anti-Israel demonstrations.
In the stadium, the public will also be prohibited from showing support for Palestine. Recently, during the reception of Atlético Madrid, PSG took a big risk by displaying a huge tifo in support of Palestine, which is prohibited by UEFA.
If the sanction imposed on the Parisian club was ultimately non-existent, the city of Paris does not want to take any risks, aware that UEFA was “surprisingly lenient” towards PSG. Laurent Nunez, prefect of Paris, explained it on BFM.
“There can only be French or Israeli flags, and messages of support for the teams. There cannot be any messages of a political nature, that is the law. In the stadiums, there cannot be message of a political nature,” he assures.
