The Minister of Scientific Research, Gilbert Kabanda Kurhenga, welcomed, on Sunday, November 10, the “substantial” increase in the number of university scholarships from Russia to Congolese students.
He expressed his satisfaction on the sidelines of the Africa-Russia forum which is being held in Sochi, a Russian city located on the Black Sea.
Gilbert Kabanda notes that Russian-Congolese cooperation is developing even more in this area of education and hopes for the same for technological innovation:
“There are many scholarships awarded as part of the cooperation that began a very long time ago as part of the relationships that have taken place since Lumumba University. I learned from the Minister of Foreign Affairs that the scholarships have been multiplied substantially and I believe that now with cooperation in the scientific field, there will be scholarships not only for ante graduate but also for post graduate and all that is technological innovation”.
For the Congolese Minister of Scientific Research, the Sochi Forum is “promising because Russia, a leader in the field of science and technology, has a lot to bring to Africans”.
