Russia claimed this Sunday the conquest of a new village in the Ukrainian region of Donetsk (in the east), where its army has been advancing more quickly in recent weeks in the face of kyiv troops lacking personnel and equipment.

“Units of the Center armed group liberated the town of Volchenka,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement. This locality is located approximately 5 km from the industrial town of Kourakhové.

Admiral Tony Radakin, Britain's chief of staff, told the BBC that Russia was making territorial gains, but stressed that these were “tiny bits of territory.” He said an average of 1,500 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded per day in October.
