This Sunday afternoon, La Gantoise hosted Standard de Liège for the 14th day of the Belgian Championship. An indisputable starter in coach Wouter Vrancken’s choices, Noah Fadiga, 24, was present on the field to defend the colors of his team. Already having 23 matches and 4 goals this season, the Senegalese however had to leave the pitch earlier than expected.
Around the half-hour mark, Noah FadigaFadiga was the victim of violent contact to the head in an aerial duel with Liège defender Alexandre Calut. While the latter was receiving treatment from the medical team, Noah FadigaFadiga, visibly disoriented, walked towards his coach before losing consciousness and collapsing to the ground, causing a moment of panic among the players and the public.

The first information published on the social network X is however intended to be reassuring. “Reassuring news concerning Noah Fadiga. He briefly lost consciousness during a stoppage in play, possibly following a collision a few minutes earlier. The first cardiological examinations showed no heart problem,” reveals La Gantoise.
