With Arizona, Donald Trump has now won all seven key states

The Associated Press announced Saturday evening that Donald Trump had won the election in Arizona.

The next American president has thus clinched victory in seven key states, winning 312 electoral votes, compared to 226 for Kamala Harris.

In 2020, President Joe Biden narrowly won the state against Donald Trump, winning the vote in Maricopa County by a margin of 50 percentage points to 48. On Saturday evening, Donald Trump led against Kamala Harris 52 to 47 .

With his landslide victory in the presidential election, the American billionaire achieved a comeback that seemed unimaginable to some, after the violent storming of the Capitol by his supporters when he refused to acknowledge his defeat in 2020.

In the years that followed, Donald Trump has been widely held responsible for the losses suffered by the Republican Partyindicted four times, convicted of 34 crimes, tried for inflating his assets in a civil fraud suit, and found guilty of sexual abuse.

The next American president still has to fulfillfines totaling more than half a billion dollars and faces jail time.

But Donald Trump managed to use his legal setbacks to channel the anger of voters in a country hit by years of high inflation. He spoke to a new generation – using podcasts and social media – to tell those who felt forgotten that he shared their disdain for the status quo.

And he did it while surviving two assassination attempts and the late replacement of Joe Biden in the Democratic Party.
