Vaudreuil-Dorion will hold a special presentation

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion invites its citizens to attend a special presentation on the flooding and sewer backups that occurred on August 9, following the rains associated with Hurricane Debby.

The meeting, moderated by Marcel Roy, Eng., from the firm JGSA Inc., expert in hydrology and hydraulics, hydrogeomorphology and environment, will be held on November 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the school auditorium secondary school of Échos (1005, rue de , Vaudreuil-Dorion).

This citizen meeting aims to inform the population about the causes of the events of August 9, to explain the mechanisms of backflow and surface flooding and to provide technical information on protection measures for residences.

Several essential themes will be covered, including:

• The definition of network types in Vaudreuil-Dorion;
• The articles of the plumbing code for the protection of residences against backflows;
• The distinction between main and secondary lines;
• The different types of valves and their effectiveness;
• The BNQ standard for the resistance of valves to pressure;
• Pumping equipment;
• Anomalies noted during previous inspections.

The presentation will be followed by a question period.

As places are limited, it is requested that only one representative per residence participate in the meeting. This will be filmed and the link will be available on the City’s website for people who cannot attend.
