The 2024 Ballon d’Or is one of those which caused the most ink to flow in the media after the trophy presentation ceremony by France Football.
The coronation of the Spaniard Rodri surprised many observers who rather saw the Brazilian Vinicius Jr winning the trophy.
The Man City midfielder, however, stole the show from the Real Madrid striker with the members of the jury who voted mainly for him.
The jury is in fact made up of 100 journalists from the 100 best selections in the FIFA rankings.
Apart from the Ballon d’Or prize, others such as that of the best coach or the best young player (Kopa trophy) were awarded.
It was the young Spanish international, Lamine Yamal, who won this trophy this year after his brilliant career with the Spanish selection.
To choose him, all former Ballon d’Or winners are asked to vote for the one they consider to be the best young player.
This year, several legends, notably 7, who should have voted did not do so according to the publication of the voting results by France Football.
