The anti-aircraft forces of the Russian army shot down more than thirty drones heading towards Moscow on Sunday, announced the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
“So far, 32 drones flying in the direction of Moscow have been shot down,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Mr. Sobyanin, the drones targeted the districts of Ramenskoye, Domodedovo and Kolomna, south of Moscow.
For his part, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobiov, announced that following the drone attack, a woman was injured in the village of Stanovoe, in the Ramenskoye district, and that several houses there were damaged. caught fire.
“In Ramenskoye, two houses in the village of Stanovoe caught fire after drones fell. A 52-year-old woman, injured by shrapnel, was hospitalized with burns to her face, neck and arms,” he stressed via Telegram, noting that the victim is in intensive care.
The attack, the most significant on Moscow and its region since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in February 2022, disrupted the operation of Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports. The Russian authorities having briefly suspended flights at the two airports, as well as at Sheremetievo airport to the north of the capital.
Since the start of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, Russian regions bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh, have regularly reported bombings and drone attacks from across the border.
Other regions located hundreds of kilometers from Ukraine such as Tver, Kaluga, Moscow and the Republic of Tatarstan are also targeted.
