The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had shot down “seventy Ukrainian drones” Sunday November 10, almost half of which in the Moscow region, an unprecedented attack towards the capital in terms of its scale since the start of the conflict in 2022.
In addition to these 34 drones near the capital, drones were neutralized, according to the Russian army, in the regions bordering Moscow of Kaluga (7) and Tula (2), and in three border regions of Ukraine: those of Bryansk (14), Oriol (7) and Kursk (6).
At the beginning of November, kyiv was the target of a Russian drone attack. The Ukrainian Air Force said it shot down 39 of 71 drones launched from Russia overnight from Friday to Saturday, November 2. The drones targeted the region surrounding the capital, the border area of Sumy as well as the central regions of Kirovograd and Poltava. According to the kyiv military administration, debris from drones shot down by air defenses fell in six neighborhoods of the capital, damaging buildings and cars and starting several fires in buildings which were extinguished. A police officer was injured, according to the administration.
