. The bride and groom prepare for the big day at the wedding fair

the essential
Future brides and grooms were present yesterday at the 5th edition of the wedding fair at the exhibition center. It remains open today with around sixty exhibitors to discover.

Pauline, 33 years old, Rijan, 29 years old, were in the aisles of the wedding fair yesterday at the exhibition center. The young Albigensian couple came to look for ideas for preparing for the big day scheduled for October 4, 2025. They are not too stressed. They have been living together for 7 years. “We already have a child, it was time to think about it,” Pauline says with a smile. For this visit to the salon, they came without him. “It’s his grandmother who looks after him but she didn’t forget to give us some advice even if she couldn’t come,” adds Pauline.

After the covid period which saw the number of marriages collapse due to bans on gatherings, the years 2022 and 2023 started to rise again, whether it is a union between a man and a woman or between two people of the same sex. Nationally, we celebrate around 240,000 per year.

Keeping the dress a secret

One year before the event, they still have a lot of things to sort out. “We found the location near . As the wedding is planned for October, we didn't have too much difficulty reserving a room.” As a result, they leave aside the stands which, among the sixty exhibitors, offer exceptional locations. There are many other things to manage.

“The advantage of the wedding fair is to find all sectors of activity gathered in the same place. This avoids spending entire days soliciting service providers. It is important to choose carefully. These service providers will participate with us for a day that is still very intimate.”

The priority of the day for our two lovebirds is the ring and the caterer. Rijan smiles and does not say the opposite when Pauline recognizes that it is she who decides on a lot of things. Like when he looks towards the food trucks. “We have ideas in mind but we are rather open to proposals. Now we have to know how to stay within a defined budget. We want a rather simple wedding.”

So it will be a caterer. For the music and the atmosphere, they will benefit from the contacts of friends who got married before them. Finally, there is the wedding dress and the gentleman's suit. “I have already planned fittings but not here. I know what I want and we want to keep the surprise,” explains Pauline. Rijan approves.

But they will still take a look at the parade.

The salon is open this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
