Aitana Dominates the Women’s Ballon d’Or Rankings

FC Barcelona player Aitana Bonmatí accumulated an impressive total of 675 points, almost 300 points more than teammate Caroline Graham Hansen, who finished with 392 points.

The details of the results which justified the various prizes awarded during the Ballon d’Or ceremony, held on October 28, have been revealed. Although the points system has generated considerable controversy surrounding the men’s Ballon d’Or, it has undeniably highlighted other stars who have also shone at this major football ceremony.

Aitana Bonmatí won this prestigious title for the second time, consolidating her status as queen of women’s football. The FC Barcelona player was not only awarded her second Ballon d’Or, but also demonstrated remarkable dominance, standing out from the other best players of the moment. The trio of honor at the ceremony was exclusively composed of players from the Catalan club.

In third place, Salma Paralluelo followed with a creditable total of 246 votes, highlighting the depth of talent within women’s football.

On the coaching front, Carlo Ancelotti met all expectations; however, the shadow of Xabi Alonso, at the head of the surprising Bayer Leverkusen, loomed large. Luis de la Fuente completed the podium following the numerous successes achieved with the Spanish national team.

In the women’s coaching category, Emma Hayes left no room for doubt. His total of 72 votes far surpassed the 49 votes obtained by former Barça coach Jonathan Giráldez. Arthur Elias remained a considerable distance behind in third place with just 14 votes.

As for the goalkeeper category, there was an undisputed winner: Emiliano Martínez. The Argentine goalkeeper won the trophy with a total of 276 points, while Athletic’s Unai Simón secured second place with 213 votes, and Lounin completed the podium with 112 votes.
