30 people saved in the middle of the night after a violent fire in a 7-story building in the city center

A big scare last night for around thirty residents of a building in the center of Toulouse. They found themselves trapped by the flames after a fire broke out. Everyone was able to be saved.

The alert was given around midnight this Saturday, November 9. A violent fire broke out in a seven-story residential building, located on Allée Charles de Fitte, in the center of Toulouse, in Haute-Garonne.

Quickly on the scene, firefighters from SDIS 31 were able to see that many residents found themselves trapped by the flames and were bothered by the smoke. Many shouted cries for help through the windows.

The firefighters did everything they could to save the residents of the building. All the people were able to be evacuated and placed in safety. According to the sdepartmental fire and rescue service of Haute-Garonne, the disaster is said to have started at the height of the fifth floor.

“The fire was quickly contained using a hose and no injuries were reported”welcome the firefighters. But the disaster caused significant material damage. 11 apartments are completely uninhabitable.

After ventilation of the premises, some of the residents were able to return to their homes. The municipality was responsible for rehousing three people, the others were welcomed by relatives. The national police have opened an investigation to determine the exact origin of this fire, which could have turned into a tragedy. In total around thirty firefighters were mobilized for this intervention.
