“It’s day and night…” In four years, this district of La Roche-sur-Yon has become colorful

The Nejma collective, which was responsible for supporting the urban renovation of the Vigne-aux-Roses district in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), has completed its project. A film will be broadcast on Friday November 15, 2024, to look back on the actions carried out on this occasion.

Vigne-aux-Roses district in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), a large fresco showing an island floating in the sky, on which colorful buildings rest, welcomes residents and visitors. This work, five meters wide and eight meters high, is painted directly on the facade of a building in the neighborhood and dates from just a few months ago. It is the fruit of the Nejma project, carried out by the collective of the same name. “We responded to a call for projects from the city four years ago, in 2020”remembers Virgile Gémonet, co-founder of the collective.
