The Prefecture of Haute-Corse informs that the department will be placed on yellow alert for the “rain, floods” and “thunderstorms” parameters, as part of a “Meteorological Situation to Monitor”. This alert, issued by Météo-France, is in effect from Saturday November 9 from 6 a.m. to Sunday November 10 at least until 6 a.m., with the possibility of adjustment depending on changing conditions.
Intense rains and slow thunderstorms expected
During the day on Saturday and during the night from Saturday to Sunday, slow moving storms should break out on the eastern coast, the eastern plain and Cap Corse. These phenomena will be accompanied by intense rain, with precipitation of 30 to 50 mm per hour, while accumulations under lasting storm cells could reach 80 to 100 mm. Vigilance could be raised to a higher level if greater rainfall accumulations were confirmed by the weather forecasts.

Faced with these risky conditions, the Prefecture of Haute-Corse reminds the population of the following instructions:
• Do not engage, on foot or by car, on submerged paths.
• Respect the diversions put in place by the authorities.
• Avoid shelter under trees, walks in the forest and outings in the mountains.
