at least three dead in Israeli strikes on Tyre, Lebanese authorities announce

This live is now over.

At least three people were killed and 30 others injured on Friday, November 8, in Israeli strikes on the city of Tyre, in southern Lebanon, according to a “preliminary assessment” from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The official Lebanese agency Ani had announced earlier that airstrikes had targeted three buildings in Tyre, ensuring that these air raids were not preceded by calls to evacuate from the Israeli army.

UNIFIL once again accuses the Israeli army of targeting it. According to thehe United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, the IDF damaged one of its positions in the south of the country, in an action described as “deliberate and direct”. The facts, which date back to Thursday, occur after “seven other similar incidents”.

Women and children represent “nearly 70%” deaths in the Gaza Strip, according to the UN. “Report shows civilians in Gaza were hardest hit by attacks, especially during total siege” of the Gaza Strip over the period from November 2023 to April 2024, also explains the new report from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Israel will reopen a new crossing into Gaza. “We have seen Israel take a number of important steps in recent weeks… and they plan to open an additional new crossing point at Kissoufim in the coming days”according to State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
