To guide its choice in evaluating the applications, the jury was careful to ensure that the projects had a collective dimension and contributed locally to the achievement of one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. This new edition is a success, both in terms of the number of applications received and the quality of the files. The jury highlights, once again, Nyon’s commitment to sustainability, and encourages all associations, foundations and cooperatives to continue their efforts.
La Manivelle Nyon
The jury was unanimous in welcoming the originality of the concept of La Manivelle Nyonwhich functions as a library of objects by providing its subscribers with a wide range of tools and materials. By encouraging the sharing and common use of resources, the association paves the way for an alternative and sustainable mode of consumption, which makes it a key figure in the circular economy in Nyon. Around this main activity, La Manivelle organizes numerous awareness events and contributes to strengthening the links between Nyonnais and Nyonnais through its participation in local life.
By awarding the Prize, the jury wishes to reward the association for its role in the transition to a more sustainable future and in reducing the environmental footprint linked to overproduction and overconsumption. He also wanted to highlight the remarkable development of the La Manivelle project and the positive impact of its actions on the community.
In order to reward La Manivelle’s actions in favor of the ecological transition, the jury decided to award it the 2024 Sustainable Development Prize, worth 10,000 francs.
Two finalists, The Lost Food Project Switzerland et La Solideriewere presented with a certificate, with the sincere congratulations of the jury which encourages them to continue their commitment. They are warmly thanked for their exemplary investment.
