“The Department will divest itself of a certain number of buildings, in particular the Jean-Bouey city near the Auditorium but also its buildings on rue Gagnereaux, those are the most important”, explains Martine Eap-Dupin. The vice-president in charge of Finance and human resources ensures that it is not a question “in no way an austerity policy but rather a policy of responsibility.” And to specify, “We estimate the savings that could be made and the asset value over three years at approximately sixteen million euros.”
Abstention on this sale for the left opposition
But in the left opposition, which abstained on this report, we see things differently. “There is a question of method”annoys Catherine Hervieu, departmental councilor and deputy for Côte-d’Or. “It comes in a national context where we are discussing a lot of budgetary constraints imposed on communities. So sixteen million euros, that’s not nothing. If we compare that with what the government has planned, a drain of twenty -and-one million euros, it still deserved to be discussed within the overall framework of the budget.” A debate which will be held at the end of November in Dijon.
The sale of these buildings owned by the department will lead to a reorganization of services, also voted on this Thursday. Many services should eventually join Osmose, the future territorial campus of the Departmental Council. A less energy-intensive building, currently being constructed near the Toison d’Or shopping center and which will ultimately accommodate four hundred agents.
During this session, the departmental councilors also voted, this time unanimously, on a motion to ask the State to renounce its levy on communities. Elected officials also adopted a wish to demand the maintenance of the Post Office in Saulieu, whose agency opening hours will once again be reduced. The Post Office which has already removed its vending machine.
