His car catches fire in front of the police station

A car caught fire in front of the La Flèche gendarmerie (Sarthe) on Friday, November 8, 2024 in the morning. The driver was not injured.

It was almost 8 a.m. this Friday when a motorist who was driving on Boulevard du Québec in La Flèche saw smoke coming from the hood of her car. At the roundabout opposite the gendarmerie, she left the road and stopped her vehicle a few meters from the building’s fence.

Three emptied fire extinguishers

« Flames were coming out of the hood », says a company officer. The firefighters were called while the police intervened immediately. “ We emptied three fire extinguishers without succeeding in completely extinguishing the fire.» Six firefighters from La Flèche completed the work, using a hose.

The driver, who was not injured, was welcomed into the gendarmerie until the tow truck arrived.
