Benrahma takes it for his rank

After OL's draw against Hoffenheim, Saïd Benrahma came under criticism for his irregular performances, while Pierre Sage expressed his frustration at another equalizer conceded at the end of the match.

Olympique Lyonnais could not do better than a draw (2-2) against Hoffenheim, in a match marked by criticism of Saïd Benrahma. Although coach Pierre Sage tried to spare certain starters, Benrahma, aligned in a new 3-4-3, did not convince. In the 37th minute, he missed a solo action, ignoring the calls of his teammates, which summed up a performance considered disappointing.

On RMC, Kevin Diaz comments: “In the Championship, he made the difference, but at the high level, he struggles to string together good matches”. With the rise of his competitors, Benrahma could see his playing time reduced.

Sage criticizes end-of-match management

Pierre Sage did not mince his words after Hoffenheim's late equalizer, criticizing his players for repeating the same mistakes: “This is cruel and unacceptable. We had the match in hand, but we made a restart error and we were punished in stoppage time, like against OM”.

The Rhone coach hopes that his team will learn lessons from these failures for future matches.
