Death Stranding is a game as divisive as its whimsical creator known above all for the Metal Gear Solid saga, Hideo Kojima. The title released exclusively on PS4 in November 2019 before arriving on PC focuses on traveling across a completely desolate United States. Action and infiltration, although the Japanese creator’s trademark, occupy very little space in this adventure clearly not made for everyone.
Xbox players, for their part, only have their eyes to observe the original proposition of Death Stranding and mourn its absence on their support. The situation has just changed. Death Stranding Director’s Cut, the best version of the game from Kojima Productions, is available now on Xbox Series X/S.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut available on Xbox Series X/S with a small discount
The “shadow drop”, which consists of publishing a video game on the day of its announcement, always has a small effect on fans. On the occasion of its fifth anniversary, Death Stranding, in its Director’s Cut version, was released on Xbox Series X/S following a statement from Hideo Kojima.
“I’m pleased to announce that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will finally be available for Xbox players. I’d like to thank all the fans who have stayed in touch with us and all the members of the Xbox community who have patiently waited. Kojima Productions will continue to connect more and more gamers around the world, so stay tuned,” rejoices the Japanese.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut currently costs €19.99 on the Microsoft Store instead of €39.99 for two weeks. This is an opportunity to seize if you plan to play it. Moreover, the publisher 505 Games and Kojima Productions have not indicated whether a physical version will see the light of day. Note that Death Stranding Director’s Cut is also arriving on Amazon Luna+.
Remember that this new version of Death Stranding released in September 2021 on PS5 (March 2022 on PC) includes graphic improvements, new movement tools like the jet-pack, a racing circuit and even a level inspired by Metal Gear Solid.
Kojima Production is still working on the development of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, scheduled for 2025 as a probably temporary exclusive on PS5. Norman Reedus and Léa Seydoux reprise their roles while Elle Fanning, Shiori Kutsuna and George Miller join the cast. Let’s not forget that Physint, a new action-infiltration game in the spirit of Metal Gear Solid, is also in preparation within Hideo Kojima’s studio.
