The Walking Dead: after 14 years, we finally know which is the only country without a zombie problem!

In The Walking Deadyou have to survive after a global apocalypse following an inversion of zombies. Until now, it seemed that the undead had really taken over the entire planet, but that’s not the case! As revealed in the second season finale of the spin-off series The Walking Dead : Daryl Dixona country has apparently managed to protect itself from the undead.

In the series, the main character played by Norman Reedus must make his way through and plans to escape with Carol (Melissa McBride). They actually want to return to the United States, but since there is no direct route from France, they want to make their way to England via the Eurotunnel first. The reason? They learned from a Scottish couple, Angus (Matt Swift) and Fiona (Sarah McCardie), that Britain was safe!

No zombies on the British island?

According to the two Scots, drastic and organized measures were taken on the island from the start of the epidemic. Strict isolation and the intervention of the army made it possible to stem the progression of the zombies. A strict quarantine would also have prevented the apocalypse from spreading with the devastating force that, for example, overwhelmed the United States.

Britain therefore seems to be a haven of peace. It seems to be the only place in the world without a zombie problem and with a still functioning state. The British Isle may be the starting point for hope for a cure. Perhaps we can still find a way to make the virus permanently harmless? In any case, it’s a sensation that’s brewing. The fact that an entire country actually succeeded in preventing or repelling the zombie apocalypse is a sensational novelty in the universe of The Walking Dead. Even in Robert Kirkman’s comics, we don’t find this.

Or a rude awakening in season 3 of The Walking Dead : Daryl Dixon ?

The big question remains: is this really the case? We’ll see at least a little bit of Britain in the upcoming third season of The Walking Dead : Daryl Dixon. This is already visible in the first trailer for the upcoming season. But what’s even more interesting is that we get a brief glimpse of a very apocalyptic London, with streets completely overgrown with vegetation and the iconic red buses.

Either way, it’s safe to assume that the series won’t suddenly give up on the undead. Just showing how Daryl and Carol are coping in a safe Britain and perhaps having to first get around strict entry restrictions doesn’t seem very exciting.

An unpleasant surprise is therefore to be expected. Angus and Fiona’s information may be outdated. Britain may have had the zombie problem under control for a long time, but perhaps a small mistake recently occurred that caused the undead outbreak to spread?

Daryl Dixon season 3 takes place in Spain

It’s also possible that Britain doesn’t have zombies, but the state itself has still collapsed. What is certain is that the story of the third season will only partially take place on the island.

Indeed, we already know that the third season of the spin-off series was filmed in Spain from August 2024. This is also where most of the plot takes place. Eduardo Noriega and Óscar Jaenada, well-known Spanish actors, are also present. Many scenes in the trailer, which have more of a western feel, appear to take place in Spain (which, as we know, is also the home of many classic European westerns).

The series should resume in 2025. We will then learn how safe Britain really is. And above all, we will have an answer to the question of why Daryl and Carol suddenly find themselves in the south of Europe, in Spain, whereas at the end of the second season, they were heading north, to Grande -, via the Eurotunnel.
