TRUMP REITERATES HIS MASS DEPORTATION PROJECT WHATEVER THE COST

(SenePlus) – In an exclusive interview granted Thursday to NBC News, Donald Trump, the new president-elect of the United States, revealed his first priorities after his victory against Vice-President Kamala Harris, emphasizing a drastic migration policy.

“We have no choice,” he said regarding his plan to carry out “the largest deportation operation in American history.” The Republican immediately dismisses the question of the cost of this initiative: “It is not a question of price tag. When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, they must return home because they won’t stay here.”

However, implementing such a program raises considerable challenges. Patrick J. Lechleitner, acting director of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), highlighted to NBC News the major logistical and financial obstacles of such an operation. Former Trump administration officials say coordination between several federal agencies, including the Justice Department and the Pentagon, would be necessary.

Trump articulates his vision around a “strong and powerful border”, while qualifying his words: “We want people to come to our country. I’m not someone who says ‘No, you can’t come in’ .”, specifying: “They must come with love for the country. They must come legally.”

Notably, this rhetoric did not prevent the 47th President of the United States from achieving historic scores with the Latino electorate, traditionally favored by Democrats. The next tenant of the White House sees it as a validation of his political line: “I began to see that a realignment was possible because the Democrats are not in phase with the thinking of the country.” He also highlights his progress among younger voters, women and Asian Americans compared to 2020.
