It’s game day at the Canadian Tire Center as the New York Islanders are in town to take on your Ottawa Senators for the first time this season. The puck will be dropped for tonight’s game at 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale HERE to be part of the game.
Fans who are unable to be there will be able to follow all the action on RDS Info or TSN 5 on television and on Unique FM or TSN 1200 on the radio.
The Senators will enter tonight’s game looking to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 5-1 loss to the Sabers in Buffalo. Ridly Greig scored Ottawa’s only goal in this match.
After the morning skating session, head coach Travis Green announced that there will be some changes to the Senators’ lineup. Defender Artem Zub will return after missing the last nine games due to injury. Zub played his final game on October 14, in an 8–7 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Pillar of the defense, Zub is a welcome return to the group.
Goaltender Anton Forsberg will get the start in net for the Senators tonight. The Swede played his last match on Saturday November 2 against the Seattle Kraken. Forsberg took advantage of the opportunity to record his second shutout of the season in a 3-0 win.
Tonight’s game will also be the second Retro Thursday of the season. This means that the first 10,000 spectators in attendance will receive a limited edition Retro Thursday poster created by Canadian artist Samantha Woj. Tonight’s bill will feature former Senators Chris Phillips. Retro prices will also be in effect on food and drink, such as $3 servings of soft-serve ice cream, as well as $5 popcorn and hot dogs.
