Unplugged Performance, Tesla customization specialist, unveils a Model S Plaid modified to become a high-performance patrol car at the 2024 SEMA Show. On the program, more than 1,000 hp and above all, an intervention capacity of more than 320 km /h.

A unique model for law enforcement

Introduced at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Tesla Model S Plaid Pursuit from Unplugged Performance caused a stir in the world of police vehicles. Based on Tesla's fastest model, the Model S Plaid, this patrol car adapted for law enforcement in Los Angeles County reaches 321 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2, 1 seconds thanks to its more than 1,100 horsepower. Figures which make it the fastest patrol vehicle in the world, according to the trainer.

Designed by Unplugged Performance's UP.FIT division, the Plaid Pursuit is a first for the brand, which has never transformed a Tesla vehicle of this power into a police vehicle. This version is particularly aimed at high-speed interventions, common in road patrols in the United States.

Specific adaptations for the police

To meet the needs of law enforcement, the UP.FIT Plaid Pursuit benefits from modifications in terms of lighting and braking.

The original model was equipped with a patented lighting system designed by UP.FIT, incorporating signal lights visible in all directions, an advantage compared to traditional lights placed only on the roof.

The car also includes additional lighting on the side skirts and rear bumper, with high and low frequency emergency sirens.

Mechanically, the Model S Plaid remains unchanged in terms of engine, the production model already offering extreme performance. However, UP.FIT announces that it has improved the braking system and the rims to optimize handling and safety in the event of a chase.

Greener police forces

For the moment this model is a unique copy and it is not certain that the Sheriff of Los Angeles will actually receive it.

The idea was obviously to make it a demonstrator and above all to show that it was possible to offer American law enforcement an effective vehicle for interceptions which was both ecological and economical in maintenance according to the preparer.
