Attempted murder in Montreal: three suspects allegedly lured a man to attack him and rob him of thousands of dollars

Three individuals who allegedly lured a 42-year-old man to a park in west Montreal, where he was stabbed and robbed of thousands of dollars, have just been charged with attempted murder.

The victim could have been the subject of an ambush, according to one of the theories studied by the police in this case which took place on September 26, in the district of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, around 7:20 p.m. .

The man attacked was apparently accompanied at the time by a woman, Asli Mahdi Ahmed. For a reason that has not yet been revealed, she allegedly invited the man to go to a park.

It was there that Ahmed and two other individuals, Kobe Ali Nazaire Chérubin and Réginald Marvin Jr Nazaire, allegedly injured the forty-year-old by stabbing him.

The suspects, aged 19 to 22, also took the opportunity to steal $3,000 from him, which suggests that a trap had been set for the man.

Graves accusations

The trio were handcuffed by law enforcement in the following weeks.

The Crown opposed their release at their appearance on October 31.

Significant charges including attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault were brought against them.

According to the act of denunciation consulted by The Journalthe trio also allegedly used “deception, lies or other fraudulent means” to obtain the stolen amount of money.

Another suspect in her twenties was also identified in this case, thanks to police searches.

Already in trouble

Kobe Ali Nazaire Chérubin and Réginald Marvin Jr Nazaire have already had trouble with the authorities.

The first is currently in court for having possessed instruments to break into a place, having an automobile master key and a false identity card.

Convicted of obstruction in the past, the second is suspected of having driven while impaired in the summer of 2022.
