It was in Baigneux-les-Juifs (Côte d'Or) that the fire broke out. Actu.fr indicates that the fire broke out around 2:50 a.m. on a farm in the town. The shed was filled with fodder, which fueled the fire quickly. A vast operation was put in place to limit the damage.
The fire quickly spread to the adjoining building which contained rapeseed oil. In total, 31 firefighters were deployed to bring the fire under control and avoid a disaster. The material toll was heavy, but no one was injured. The farm remains under surveillance to avoid a new fire outbreak.
31 firefighters deployed and a fire difficult to control
Between the fodder from the building where the fire started and the rapeseed oil present in the second, it was necessary to mobilize numerous firefighters to control the fire and limit the damage. Three surrounding structures were saved from the flames by firefighters, but the toll remains heavy.
For the farm, the losses are enormous and still difficult to quantify. We do not yet know the origin of the fire, but an investigation is underway to define the circumstances and verify the accidental or criminal nature of this disaster.
