Vince McMahon is positive about the direction WWE is taking

Although Vince McMahon has left WWE for good and is facing accusations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, he appears to continue to closely follow the evolution of the wrestling company.

Mark Shapiro, President of TKO, recently revealed during an interview with CNBC that Vince McMahon is very optimistic about the current direction of WWE. The two shared lunch recently, although Shapiro clarified that they no longer seek advice from Vince McMahon.

He tells us:

“A few weeks ago, I had lunch with him, just to check in, it's been a while. I haven't heard from him since. Obviously, the documentary series on Netflix came out. I wanted to know where he was at. He was extremely cooperative, friendly. He behaved like a true professional during our lunch. It was one-on-one time, but he completely left the business.

He no longer makes decisions. He is not a member of the board of directors. He no longer gives his opinion. We don't consult him. He has legal proceedings to deal with, and honestly, he'd rather have privacy and time to deal with them, which is completely understandable. In the meantime, we continue to develop TKO and WWE, expanding the horizons and possibilities. He remains a shareholder, although he is no longer a major shareholder as before, but he is still a shareholder.”

Asked about Vince McMahon's opinion on the current direction of WWE, Shapiro replied: “He was very positive, but I didn’t ask his opinion.”
