This club that uses two different jerseys during a match

A few days ago, we organized a big tour of Switzerland with the aim of meeting different clubs on the other side of the Alps, and that of Neuchâtel Xamax particularly caught our attention for a very specific reason. In fact, it is the only club in all of Europe to prepare four jerseys per player and to use two different jerseys during the same match.

Under contract with the equipment manufacturer Capelli, the Neuchâtel club uses a jersey which does not evolve not in the design, since this is not authorized by the various regulations on equipment, but in the main sponsor which appears at the level of the stomach. A place of choice for any partner, which Xamax wanted to share with the aim of providing double visibility. In addition to the common sponsor “Group E”, in the first half, the players therefore wear a jersey where “Finestra” appears, while after half-time, it is “Faciem” which is visible as a sponsor alongside of “Group E”.

A rare process, not to say unprecedented, and which is thus an opportunity to bring greater diversity to the team’s sponsorship income. Unlike certain clubs which prefer to integrate the different sponsors on the jersey, even if it means becoming a traveling advertising billboard, Xamax is betting on double display and therefore the use of different jerseys in one and the same match.

A choice which obviously has direct consequences on the preparation of the locker room, since before each match, the stewards must prepare four jerseys for each player. As for several seasons in professional clubs, players benefit from two prepared jerseys (or even three sometimes) in order to be able to meet their needs in the event of tears or traces of blood after contact.

The Neuchâtel Xamax club and its jerseys now have no secrets for you.
