Arthur Gander Memorial: Kaylia Nemour in gold, Morgane Osyssek 7th and Léo Saladino 9th

The Swiss competition marked the return to competition for the three gymnasts. Kaylia Nemour (ALG) won gold with a large lead over German Karina Schönmaier, second. Brazilian Julia Soares won bronze. Less success for the French Morgane Osyssek-Reimer and Léo Saladino who finished seventh and ninth respectively after a complicated passage on the ground.

For her first competition after her Olympic coronation on the uneven bars, Kaylia Nemour returned to victory at the Arthur Gander Memorial held in Chiasso, Switzerland. The Franco-Algerian gymnast started off perfectly with a score of 14.900 on bars, quickly gaining a head start on her opponents. On the beam, she also performed a solid movement and obtained a score of 13.950, the best in the competition on this apparatus. Finally, on vault, her third and final apparatus (the competition format requires only presenting 3 apparatuses out of the 4 in WAG), she presented a yurchenko twist rated 12.700. With a total of 41.350, she won gold.

For her part, Morgane Osyssek-Reimer put herself in a very good position by starting on vault, obtaining a score of 13.250 for a perfectly executed yurchenko twist (less than a fault point). But on his second rotation, on the ground, things got complicated with a fall on his full-in and a last simplified diagonal. With a score of 11.050, she was unable to advance to the final phase. She placed 7th in the competition.

Also note the complicated competition of the Italian Angela Andreoli who unfortunately could not finish her floor due to injury.

Identical diagram for Léo Saladino. If he excels on parallel bars (14.000), his passages on vault (13.000) and floor (11.650) cost him the final phase. He ranks ninth. In the men's category, gold went to the Ukrainian Illia Kovtun, silver to the Canadian Félix Dolci and bronze to the Brazilian Caio Souza.

Saturday, Kaylia Nemour, Morgane Osyssek-Reimer and Léo Saladino will compete in the Swiss Cup. Morgane Osyssek-Reimer and Léo Saladino will play as a duo, while Kaylia Nemour will make up Team “Ba'mour” and will play as a duo with the Swiss Christian Baumann.
