The Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT “Zulu Time” comes at the end of the year to bring one of the last pieces of the Tudor building for 2024. It stands out as a daring tool watch, designed for those who live their passions intensely. Made from Grade 2 titanium, it enriches the gamme Pelagos FXD with a new GMT complication, a 24-hour bezel and a METAS certified movement.
This watch is inspired by Tudor collaborations with the French Navya relationship that gave birth to the FXD line in 2021, initially designed for military divers. Today, it is reinventing itself to also address aviators, while retaining the technical characteristics specific to a model ready to face the most extreme challenges.
An aesthetic that fuses past and modernity
The matte black dial is adorned with luminous indexes in a “custard” tone, recalling the vintage nuances of the Pelagos LHD. This choice of color, accompanied by intense nighttime luminosity, ensures optimal readability in all conditions. Additionally, this version introduces a date window at 3 o’clock for the first time to the FXD range, adding practical functionality while respecting the visual understatement of the Tudor design.
Far from being limited to a model for divers, this famous watch is now also dedicated to Naval Aeronautics aviators. A badge representing a winged anchor with a star, engraved on the Grade 5 titanium caseback, discreetly evokes this affiliation. The green textile strap is reminiscent of the flight outfits of French pilots, creating a strong visual link with this aerial universe without overpowering the refined style of the model.
Designed to withstand demanding conditions, this watch maintains optimized proportions: a 42mm diameter casea length between lugs of 52 mm and a thickness of 12.7 mm. With its screw-down crown and case back, it offers a water resistance of 200 meters, making it as efficient underwater as it is at high altitude. Its lightness, due to Grade 2 titanium, makes it a robust and pleasant accessory to wear for the most intense activities.
A high-precision movement and metas certification are there
The model integrates the calibre MT5652-Uan automatic GMT movement, COSC and METAS certified, guaranteeing precision from 0 to +5 seconds per day. This movement, with a power reserve of 65 hours, is also equipped with a silicon balance spring, allowing it to resist magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss. With this level of performance, Tudor ensures optimal reliability for its carriers, even in the most extreme conditions.
A new milestone in a prolific year for the Pelagos FXD range
In 2024, Tudor enriched its range with the Chrono model for the Pro Cycling team in May, adding a sporty dimension to the Pelagos FXD collection. The version GMT “Zulu Time” completes this offering with a touch of elegance and functionality, proving Tudor’s ability to innovate without losing the essence of its military creations.
