This match will also be tense, because of the rivalry between the support clubs of the two teams. “Since the theft in 2009 of the tarpaulin of the “ultras” supporters Indians Tolosa 93, by the “ultras” supporters of the Roazhon Celtic Kop (RCK), these two groups have maintained conflictual relations which regularly give rise to clashes between them, during and on the sidelines of meetings »part of the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine, in a press release.
Measures against Toulouse fans
In April 2024, a violent fight broke out between Rennes and Toulouse supporters, a few hours before the kick-off of a match between the two teams, at Roazhon Park. A group of around fifty people attacked Toulouse supporters who were in front of a PMU bar on rue de Châtillon. Results: ten injured, one of whom was transported to hospital in relative urgency by the firefighters.
According to the prefecture, there is a risk “proven to be a disturbance of public order”this Sunday. Also, state services have taken two main measures against Toulouse fans. “From 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., any supporter of the Toulouse Football Club club is prohibited from claiming this status, in particular by displaying a scarf, a badge, a piece of clothing, a flag allowing the identification of this club, in the commune of Rennes, with the exception of the Roazhon Park stadium grounds »on the one hand.
On the other hand, “from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., the possession, transport and use of all firecrackers or smoke bombs, flags and banners whose inscriptions call for provocation, violence or hatred and any object that may be used are prohibited as a projectile, in the commune of Rennes, including within and around the stadium. »
The Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture finally warns that “the police forces will be fully mobilized, during this sporting event classified as high risk, in order to ensure the maintenance of public order and compliance with these measures. »
