Inmate jailed for murder of little girl arrested for another crime

Katsuta Kunihiko, an inmate serving a life sentence for the murder of a girl in 2004, was arrested Thursday for another case dating from 2006. In this one, a fourth-year elementary school student had been stabbed several times while returning home in the evening after a tutoring class in the city of Tatsuno (Hyogo pref.). Police have since been searching for information after releasing the video taken by the surveillance camera.

In 2004, he strangled and stabbed a 9-year-old girl for a sexual motive in the city of Tsuyama (pref. Okayama). He was arrested in 2018.

The 45-year-old man also suggested that he had been involved in the murder of a 7-year-old girl in the city of Kakogawa (Hyogo pref.) on October 16, 2007. She had been attacked with a knife in front of his home. The police then launched a total of 54,200 investigators on the trail of the killer.
