DIRECT. US presidential election: Joe Biden will speak in the afternoon, Donald Trump “impatient” to meet him at the White House

The day after his victory, Donald Trump received congratulations from world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Republican, however, pledged during his campaign to raise customs tariffs on products imported from China, to encourage made in America.

Among Donald Trump's important victories, the “swing states”, those states which could swing from one side to the other, were all won by the Republican camp. Only Arizona and Nevada do not yet have final results.

Kamala Harris acknowledged her defeat against Donald Trump on Wednesday, while promising her supporters to “keep fighting”, in a speech with a rather combative tone. “We will help (Donald Trump) and his team in the transition and we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power,” assured the outgoing vice-president.

Trump and his team will not officially be in place until January, but a very well-established process is now being put in place to allow his arrival at the White House in two and a half months.
