A young hockey player collapsed on the ice Tuesday evening at the Greenfoot Energy 4-plex in Moncton, during a game between two local U13 hockey teams.

The director of the Moncton Minor Hockey Association, Shaun Abbasconfirmed on Wednesday the incident which occurred the evening before. At this time he does not wish to make any further comment.

Several parents who witnessed the scene reported that an adult who is a health professional provided first aid to the child lying on the ice. The child was then taken into the care of Ambulance New Brunswick.
