The cultural café restaurant Le Pic Vert in Millau is continuing its “outside the walls” programming in 2024-2025, while its building is being reconstructed.
One year after the fire which ravaged the cultural café restaurant “Le Pic Vert”, located on avenue de l’Aigoual, the association which manages the cultural part, “Le Grand Bouillon”, is reinventing itself while waiting for the reopening planned for the fall 2025. With reconstruction starting at the beginning of 2025, the team has chosen to maintain the link with its audience through a series of offshore events.
« We will have work throughout the season, but we still want to keep the link and always be present “, explain Elodie Urasemployee of the association. Under the banner “ The Green Peak takes the air », the program extends this year to different partner locations, with the support of the Department of Aveyron and the City of Millau.
A first meeting with humor
The season starts on Saturday November 9, 2024 at 9 p.m. at the René Rieux hall in Millau with a Comedy Club hosted by MC and DJ Mr Tristan. Three comedians will take turns on stage in an evening dedicated to humor and stand-up, a first for the city.
The month of December reserves another atypical show with “Damage Case”, a One Man Band with an offbeat universe. THE Saturday December 7Julien Parugini will offer a mixture of boogie and rockabilly tinged with humor and incredible adventures, at the Chakana room, Chapelle de l'Hôtel Dieu in Millau.
The program also includes a dive into the 1930s with “O’Gatsby Day” on Saturday January 11, 2025. In the Menuiserie de Millau room, this day will include dance workshops (tap, Lindy Hop, burlesque), a musical aperitif and a swing concert by Jungle Calls. This group of six musicians explores classics from the 1920s and 30s with influences from King Oliver and Louis Armstrong, offering a musical immersion in the Louisiana swamps and the world of traditional jazz.
In January, the Les Givrées festival will welcome “Amour Cannibale” by Cie la Brebis égarée, an acoustic duo who will play the opening act of the show “Petite Gueule” at the Théâtre de la Maison du Peuple, the Thursday January 23, 2025.
The Friday February 14, 2025it is the collective of Souffleurs who will take over the Théâtre de la Doline with “Cultivons des pinceaux”, a poetic and committed show on the theme of exile.
A festival in climax in March
The highlight of the season will be a festival organized by Le Pic Vert at the Millau village hall, the March 8 and 9, 2025. Concerts, shows for the family, and various cultural activities are on the program for this festive event, the full program of which will be revealed soon.
The events are offered at a conscious price, with prices varying from 8 to 15 euros, to encourage a large audience to participate. Tickets are available for pre-sale online, at the Espace Culture du Jardin de la Mairie on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the morning, or on site 30 minutes before each show.
With this “outside the walls” season, Le Pic Vert continues to defend a culture “ lively and popular », faithful to its commitment to the Millavois territory. Every month, a new meeting with artists and enthusiasts will allow the public to wait while waiting for the reopening of this now emblematic cultural space.
