19-year-old young man missing for nearly 48 hours found dead

The body of a 19 year old man was found in a grove at the exit of Parthenay-de-Bretagne, on the road to Saint-Gilles, north-east of Rennes, Monday November 4, 2024, indicates the gendarmerie news Rennesconfirming West France. He was missing since Sunday November 3.

These are volunteers participating in a hunt organized by the family who found him. According to the first findings on the place of discovery of the body, which must be confirmed by the observations of the forensic doctor, the investigation is progressing towards suicide.

The course of the evening

On the evening of Saturday November 2, Ewan Gautier19 years old and living in Romillé, leaves his car in Parthenay-de-Bretagne, to go party in Rennes with friends.

After a passage in a bar, then in a nightclubwhere he allegedly lost his cell phone, he returned drunk around 6 a.m. with two friends. He goes during a few tens of minutes in a private evening at the community hall, a few meters from the parking lot opposite the town hall where his car is located.

The young man then goes to a nearby friend's house to ask him to notify another friend by telephone and ask him to meet him in the parking lot. He does not join his friend in this parking lot.

The last person to see him is the manager of a fast food restaurant who allegedly sold him a soda. Later in the morning he must join his mother, but he will never arrive. She alerted the police in the afternoon, before conducting searches until the late evening of Sunday, November 3.

Dog team and thermal drones are deployed Monday to try to find him. At the family's call, the residents spontaneously join together to participate in a hunt.

The volunteers eventually found his body. An investigation is underway.
