Caution in view of European markets, voting day in the United States for the presidential elections

European stock markets are expected to be on a cautious note at the opening of this session this Tuesday. The CAC 40 should fall by 0.18%. This day will be marked by the presidential election in the United States. Americans are going to the polls to choose between Kamala Harris, Democratic candidate, and Donald Trump, Republican candidate. In addition, the markets will react to the results of the Bouygues group. The company announced this morning a 1% increase in its turnover over the first 9 months of 2024 to 41.5 billion euros. She also announced that she would maintain her outlook.

Bouygues' turnover for the first nine months of 2024 stood at 41.5 billion euros, up 1% compared to the same period in 2023. This increase is mainly driven by Equans and Bouygues Construction. At constant scope and exchange rates, turnover increased by 2% year-on-year. The group's net profit amounted to 687 million euros, an increase of 22 million euros over one year. Current operating income from activities (ROCA) came to 1.72 billion euros, an increase of 96 million euros over one year.

In a difficult context for the wine and spirits market, the Oeneo group returned to growth in the second quarter (+1.5%) of its 2024-2025 financial year, thus continuing the gradual improvement in the trend observed for several quarters. Its turnover thus amounts to 78.7 million euros. This performance allows us to post, in the first half, a turnover very close to that achieved during the previous financial year: 153 million euros compared to 154.3 million euros.

In the third quarter, Solutions 30 generated turnover of 225.4 million euros, down 10.1%. According to the specialist in solutions for new technologies, it reflects the continuation of the trends of the second quarter. It fell by 8.3% to 82.1 million euros in the Benelux. In this area, activity was “temporarily reduced in fiber in Belgium due to continued negotiations between operators with a view to pooling their investments”.

Vicat's consolidated turnover in the third quarter of 2024 reached 979 million euros, up 0.7% at constant scope and exchange rates and down 6.6% on a reported basis, impacted by the negative development exchange rates and an unfavorable base effect. With growth of 26.8% at constant scope and exchange rates, the group's turnover in the third quarter of 2023 was marked by high levels of activity, particularly in the United States and India.
