It was a little before midnight on Saturday evening that things took a turn for the worse. Exasperated by the noise, neighbors made sure to interrupt the party. According to testimonies, there were around thirty people belonging to the Traveler community. “We saw them arriving with sticks, knives and other weapons,” said one of the partygoers. “They insulted us, threatened us with death. They also broke up the cars in the parking lot and nearby,” said another.
As the situation escalated, the rave organizers turned off the sound around 1 a.m. To restore calm, in total, nearly 200 police, firefighters and emergency services were mobilized.
Amaury de Saint-Quentin, the prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine, condemned “the casualness and irresponsibility” of the organizers of the rave party who “endangered the participants, local residents, motorists and police forces. safety and rescue, both on site and on traffic routes.
