Update your drivers to close the flaws
The severity of these flaws is between 7 and 8.2 on the risk scale and concerns both GeForce and RTX series gaming GPUs as well as professional models. The NVS and Tesla ranges are also affected by these vulnerabilities.
According to Nvidia, these flaws allow the execution of malicious code but also the theft and alteration of personal data.
For the GPU display driver vulnerabilities, Nvidia specifies that a privileged attack could exploit this flaw to elevate its permissions. This is called code execution, denial of service or information disclosure. The manufacturer recommends several versions of drivers depending on the configurations.
For Windows:
- GeForce, RTX, Quadro et NVS : versions 566.03/553.24/538.95
- Tesla : versions 553.24/538.95
For Linux:
- GeForce : versions 565.57.01/550.127.05/535.216.01
- RTX, Quadro et NVS : versions 565.57.01/550.127.05/535.216.01
- Tesla : versions 550.127.05/535.216.01
To update the drivers, there are two solutions available to you. Either manually via the Nvidia website by selecting their GPU, or via updates provided by computer manufacturers incorporating the latest security patches.
Don't wait too long, these vulnerabilities endanger your machine but also your security with risks to your personal data. For example, your identifiers, particularly banking ones. It's best not to risk the worst in the face of threats to your machine in the absence of driver updates.
