On October 28, we reported that the captain of the Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid suffered a lower body injury following a nasty fall after tripping over an opponent’s stick during a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Oilers quickly announced that McDavid was not going to be back in the game.
What’s more, the head coach Kris Garlic also confirmed that he would have to meet with team doctors to further evaluate his ankle injury.
However, a week later, the news seems more than good for McDavid and his gang!
Indeed, as the Oilers prepare to face the New Jersey Devils this evening, live from Rogers Place in Edmonton, fans can rejoice, because the organization’s superstar was present at training morning optional.
Although it wasn’t a full, intense workout, McDavid said he was very optimistic about returning ahead of schedule.
I feel pretty good. Nothing limits me on the ice. I’m pretty happy to see the progression from when this happened! When this happens, we are obviously afraid that it is something a little more serious. Luckily, I got some good news and did everything I could to make it better. We’ll take it day by day, but I felt pretty good today.

Obviously, McJesus will not be in uniform against the Devils this evening, but the main interested party did not seem to contradict the idea of seeing him in action this weekend against the Vancouver Canucks.
More details will follow regarding his official return.
