An Olympique de Marseille icon thinks Randal Kolo Muani doesn't deserve all the criticism he's facing at the moment.
Randal Kolo Muani is the weak link of PSG in this first part of the season. The former Nantes player continues erratic performances, so much so that the supporters but also the coach Luis Enrique have turned away from him. The current trend for him is to leave in January.
RKM is being pushed towards the exit and this does not please the former French international player, Christophe Dugarry. Speaking on RMC Sport, he made a big rant against the Ile-de-France officials.
Dugarry reverses his position regarding Kolo Muani
“You are explaining to me that a 22-year-old player who scores in the French team, because he does not fit into Luis Enrique's system, you then leave him in a team which does not have center forward in his team, you leave him on the road bench. You leave a 22-year-old player on the bench because he is not intelligent enough to understand Luis Enrique's system…What doesn't understand? What is too smart about Luis Enrique's system that Kolo Muani doesn't understand? He plays 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there. How do you expect him to understand the system when you never make him play it? For three games, he has been on the bench and he doesn't even come in anymore, it's not working… it's been two years since Luis Enrique brought you to the Champions League final, now you are ready to wait. On the other hand, there is zero patience with Kolo Muani,” he declared.
Duga therefore defends Kolo Muani, even though a few months ago he strongly demolished him. In November 2023, he declared: “I feel like I was wrong, and that I was deceived about the technical quality of certain players. I didn’t think Kolo Muani had so many boxes instead of shoes.” Obviously, friend Dugarry changes his mind as well as his shirt.
