AFCPG: yes to love, no to ethnic division | www.union.sonapresse.com/fr

Concerned by the various manifestations of community withdrawal, the Alliance of Christian Women for Peace in Gabon (AFCPG) held a conference last Saturday at the Arambo building. Its goal is to remind people that inter-ethnic dialogue is a key to a new Gabon.

Made up of Christian women, the AFCPG makes peace its hobby horse. It advocates biblical values, justice, fraternity, truth, love, living together, social cohesion. She denounces the social divide and fights against the degradation of the family unit and tribalism.

The AFCPG believes that the dangerous rise of ethnic fiber, to the detriment of patriotic fiber, has been maintained by the fallen system. The Transition is therefore, for the Alliance, the time to refuse hate speech which compromises the progress of the country. It is this moment during which it is important to sound the alarm to remind the Gabonese where they come from and the values they must share as children of God, but also sons and daughters of the same nation.

This historic date of August 30 appears, for the Christian and patriot that I am, like the emergence of a hope, of a hope. Because the skies of Gabon have opened so that each Gabonese experiences a profound transformation of their inner being, that they say goodbye to a sinister past, turning their back on selfishness, division, corruption.” underlined the president of the AFCPG, Professor Honorine Ngou.

For Camille Ambassa, doctor and Christian, diversity is the wealth of the nation. Marriage is also a value which makes it possible to fight against ethnic divide and consolidates national unity.

We think of ourselves out of weakness of mind. We have many ethnicities, languages, cultures, customs and religions. This heritage must be accepted. Let us make it our duty to pass this on to our children.” he insisted.
