War in Ukraine: rice, space technologies… we know what Russia gives to North Korea in exchange for its soldiers

North Korea has sent soldiers to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russian army, led by Vladimir Putin. But this military aid comes at a certain price.

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is becoming increasingly global. This has been particularly noticeable since kyiv’s support has increased and Kim Jong-Un has decided to send several thousand soldiers to the front to support Vladimir Putin’s armed forces. But according to The Korea Herald relayed by Geothis aid has a certain cost for Russia.

Kim Jong-Un worried

While it is difficult to quantify exactly the number of North Korean soldiers who have been sent to Ukraine, although they are estimated between 8,000 and 12,000, Vladimir Putin intends to spend to rely on the help of his ally.

According to Seoul’s intelligence, North Korean aid is not free. Russia would have paid 200 million dollars. Putin’s country has also promised to supply as much as 700,000 tonnes of rice and is expected to provide space technology in exchange for human cannon fodder.

Obviously, Pyongyang had planned everything. The money would allow North Korea to cover the remuneration of soldiers sent to the front (estimated at $2,000 per month), the large quantity of rice would ensure the country does not fall into a major food crisis.

When it comes to space technologies, this point is much more worrying. Such aid could allow Kim Jong-Un to strengthen his ballistic missile program. This development is considered dangerous at the global level, particularly for border countries such as Japan or South Korea.

The situation must be monitored very closely, since Kim Jong-Un hopes that Donald Trump will be elected in the next American presidential election which is being held in a few days, and could thus change all of the United States’ support for kyiv.
