The night shift is back at the Stellantis factory in Sochaux (Doubs). After a recruitment campaign which lasted three months, 450 temporary workers will be on duty, from 9 p.m. and until 4:30 a.m., in order to meet the production demand for the electric 3008 and 5008, detail our colleagues from France Bleu Belfort-Montbéliard.
These additional staff should make it possible to produce 200 additional cars per day. The night team will be made up of 65% temporary workers and 35% more experienced permanent employees.
All positions will be filled
For this first night, the production line will almost run normally and all positions on the production line will be occupied: stamping, welding, assembly and assembly.
The employees, who were trained for three weeks, would have to work two jobs at the same time, so production would be slowed down. 99% of them have already set foot in the factory for a week so that they can get a real idea of the work, get their bearings and get the rhythm. During this first week of “discovery”, they produced around forty cars.
