Around 500 people gathered for a white march in tribute to Emilio. The body of the teenager, who would have celebrated his 15th birthday on October 27, was discovered in the family home on the night of October 23 to 24. His mother and stepfather were both indicted for murder of a 15-year-old child. The autopsy confirmed that the child died as a result of numerous violence received all over his body.
Among the people who came to pay tribute to him, his friends, mainly from Saint-Cyprien, where the schoolboy went to school. But also his father. “He was a good boy who didn’t deserve to go through all that. We had a lot of good times. I really hope that he is better up there and that he is happy,” testified a young girl during one of the rare speeches. “I love you my brother, I will never forget you,” expressed another young person, with great emotion.
The procession, dignified and silent, gathered at the initiative of the victim's friends. He left from the town hall of Alénya, a small town of 3,619 inhabitants in the Pyrénées-Orientales located about ten kilometers southeast of Perpignan, to the scene of the tragedy.
