At first light this Monday morning, a woman said she was drugged in a bar in the Vitacura district of Santiago, the capital of Chile, where she allegedly participated in a party organized by players from Colo Colo, the training club of 'Arturo Vidal. The Colo Colo players celebrated the birthday of a team member there.
A presumed victim in a state of shock
Arturo Vidal was present at the scene since he was arrested in a drunken state in the company of other players, reports Teletrece. This small group would have tried to flee when the police arrived. They were eventually taken to the police station, where they were briefly detained before being released, Teletrece said. According to Radio ADN, the prosecution has opened an investigation into sexual assault against Arturo Vidal, even if it is not excluded that other players are involved.
The alleged victim, who was in this establishment with friends, according to the Chilean press, had difficulty speaking and keeping her balance when her sister came to find her. The latter, convinced that the 22-year-old young woman had not only consumed alcohol and that she could have been drugged, contacted the police. The complainant was allegedly left alone and in a state of disorientation after being separated from her group during the evening.
The investigation was entrusted to a specialized crime-fighting service, OS 9, Radio ADN and Teletrece inform us. No player was detained. In the case of Arturo Vidal, the prefect explained that the player “was taken to the police station as part of an identity check for investigative purposes”, reports Teletrece. Arturo Vidal was then released, without immediate prosecution.
