This Sunday evening, when calm had returned, notably thanks to the massive deployment of CRS in Rillieux-la-Pape, Abdelkader Lahmar went to the Velette district.
The LFI deputy for the 7th constituency of Rhône met residents and was able to interact with young people. According to him, they are “the first to strongly condemn acts of violence. They are also the first victims”regretting that TCL buses will no longer pass through the area until November 11 inclusive.
Abdelkader Lahmar took the opportunity to denigrate the announcements made by the mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape, Alexandre Vincendet, who wishes to summon the families of the miners arrested and threatens to cut off their municipal aid, or even to have them expelled from their HLM.
“No one should be held responsible for the actions of another, and punishing an entire family for the actions of a single member is not only unfair, it is also counterproductive.”reacts Abdelkader Lahmar, who advocates the use of dialogue.
“Dialogue with all residents and striving to concretely respond to their expectations is the only way to reduce marginalization and precariousness, and therefore the violence that results from it”estimates the parliamentarian, who campaigns for the return of community policing to establish “a more serene and secure climate for all”.
And to conclude by promising to soon hold a new meeting with the inhabitants of the Velette district “to collect their testimonies and together define solutions to the problems encountered”. Without forgetting to invite Alexandre Vincendet to come too, because “many residents expressed their regret at never having seen the mayor visit the site”.
