The Gard firefighters intervened for a fire breaking out on the ground floor of a 4-storey building, rue de Provence in Nîmes shortly before 4 a.m. Monday November 4, 2024. At its worst, the intervention required The deployment of two firefighting engines, an aerial ladder and medical support. A total of 22 rescuers were dispatched to the scene.
22 firefighters and six vehicles were mobilized. Emergency services intervened quickly and in large numbers. Their action made it possible to prevent the fire from spreading to a neighboring building located in an interior courtyard, where the electrical installations were damaged.
A couple, their child and a pet were preventively evacuated from their ground floor apartment before emergency services arrived. No smoke entered the apartment, however the occupants will be relocated to their families nearby.
