A young man, called Nicolas, was seriously injured by a gunshot to the head. Transported to Valencia hospital, the young man was declared dead on Saturday “early afternoon”, deputy prosecutor Charlotte Cerna announced to AFP.
Same Rugby club as Thomas, killed in Crépol
Two people were also slightly injured, a woman and a bouncer. Their lives were no longer considered to be in danger on Sunday, according to information from BFMTV.
This tragedy occurs one year after the fatal attack at a village ball in Crépol, in Ardèche. Thomas, a 16-year-old teenager, was stabbed to death. He and Nicolas were both members of the Rugby Club Romans-péage (RCRP) which paid tribute to them.
“The club has been touched to the heart again since Thursday evening. Nicolas, Kolbe, Nico, the princess and so many other nicknames have just left us in atrocious circumstances. We are once again devastated and send our most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones,” RCRP wrote on its Facebook page.

Marie-Hélène Thoraval, the Les Républicains mayor of Romans-sur-Isère, where Nicolas lived, reacted this Sunday on BFMTV to this disappearance. “I have the impression of reliving the same words, of hearing the same sentences,” she explains. “He was most certainly there in the wrong place and at the wrong time.”
For Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, Nicolas’ death is “a new tragedy”. “The fight we must wage requires legislative rearmament and determination from everyone at every moment,” he adds.
An investigation was opened in connection with this tragedy by the Privas public prosecutor’s office in Ardèche. The investigations were entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS). No arrests have yet been made.
