Back on the field after a few days of rest, the LOSC reserve put itself in great, very great danger, before saving what could still be saved this Saturday at Vimy (3-3).
Two weeks ago, LOSC collapsed at home when they hosted Stade de Reims (1-3) and therefore had a feeling of revenge this Saturday, traveling to the US Vimy pitch. This state of mind was quickly reflected on the green rectangle with two achievements recorded in the first act by Valentin Vanbaleghem (22′) and Yanis Beau Djellel (38′). Everything nevertheless changed upon returning from the locker room with a reverse scenario and three goals for the locals, three goals scored in twenty minutes.
Stunned, Stéphane Pichot's men did not give up, managing to win what could still be won at the very end of the match. Valentin Vanbaleghem, again, equalized from the penalty spot (90′) in the last minutes. The Lille youth therefore had to rely on their most experienced element away from home to get back up (3-3).
This result mixes disappointment and relief. In front of the scoreboard at the break, victory was the only outcome hoped for by the Mastiffs, who were ultimately not far from being overthrown. This draw (3-3) still allows them to put an end to a series of three consecutive losses in the championship and to remain in the lead with ten units, two less than JA Drancy, leader of group E in National 3. On an individual level, the young Dimitri Lucea took his first steps at this level, the fifth level of French football.
